Click on “Wi-Fi” to do the same if you are using a mobile phone/tablet. Enter your Wi-Fi user credentials into your Network Connections Pane if you are using a desktop. Additionally, be sure that the router and device are on the same network. You will first need to connect the device with which you want to login to your NETGEAR router to the Wireless Network. IT & Tech Careers.I can live with it the way it is, but figured it was worth a shot to ask you guys if you knew of anything else to try to get back to the admin page. I'm happy that the internet can come through when I hook it up like a switch, but currently the Wifi button and the WPS button do literally nothing and I can't access the admin page. It's like the power outage turned my wifi router into a switch with no admin page. It also shows 33 devices connected, which means the Netgear genie is actually looking at the switch for the whole office rather than the Netgear router I'm connected through. The Netgear Genie reports "Netgear router is not found or is not supported." The IP the Genie shows for the Netgear router is the gateway IP for our entire work network (it takes me to the login page to administer the company network). I've also tried setting static IPs in the .x range with no success. I've tried /com and all the default 192.168 ips.nothing brings me to an admin page.which is weird because I've factory reset it several times. Even though the second configuration grants me internet access, I still cannot access the router admin page. If I connect the internet to port 1 and the PC to port 2-4, the internet comes through just fine. So if I connect the internet to the Internet port and a PC to port 1, I get nothing, just the 169.254 ip address. I found out the router works fine as a switch. The weird part: at work I was able to do some troubleshooting. Nothing has restored my connection or even gotten me anything other than the .x ip address. I've power cycled, factory reset (held it for 8 minutes straight), netsh int ip reset, ipconfig release/renew, etc etc. I have tried everything.at least three times. When I woke up, my computer showed limited connectivity through ethernet.and a .x ip which I learned means it's not able to contact the router for an IP.
