What’s the best paint color for my kitchen cabinets? How do I personalize my rental without renovating? Which interior design trends will stick around beyond 2021? How did marble become so popular in kitchen design (and should I splurge on my dream countertops)? Our interior design journeys are filled with questions which we at SemiStories attempt to answer every week through expert interviews, inspiring home tours, and trend reports. These five spaces all feature Chris Loves Julia’s cabinet fronts in Cove, in a variety of ways-each one totally inspiring. Where you might normally opt for white, cream, or grey cabinets, these textured thermofoils add warmth to a space in a way that’s at once subtle and striking. Cove, a light oak tone, is undoubtedly the most popular style. Launched in 2018, the CLJ collection includes Semihandmade’s classic Shaker doors in three different wood finishes of MDF fronts, all compatible with IKEA’s Sektion cabinets. These factors-we think, at least-are part of what makes Chris Loves Julia’s Semihandmade collaboration, designed in partnership with Chris and Julia Marcum, so appealing. Get them in a versatile wood tone, and years down the line, they’ll look just as refined and understated as they did the day you first installed them. Their simple design is arguably as classic as you can get, making them well-suited for a wide range of tastes. There’s a good reason why Shaker cabinets have lasted the test of time. ![]() The river ships are mostly longships and these will be on rivers like the Rhine and Danube. These differences do not make one cruise experience better than the other, you just need to decide what works better for your particular wants and needs.Īll of the ocean ships are identical, so once you have been on one, then you will be familiar with all of them. ![]() There are some distinct differences between each type of Viking cruise ship. The first decision you will want to consider is whether you prefer a river or an ocean cruise. Check with your Travel Agent if you are considering this. There are times when you can ‘transfer’ a booking to a Travel Agent after you book with Viking, but there are certain conditions. At the end of the day though, it is your decision. In addition, the Viking representatives are experts in all aspects of Viking travel. ![]() Personally, we prefer doing it ourselves and always book directly with Viking because we like the hands-on aspect of planning our trip. Shipboard credit can range between $250 and $500. The price for the cruise will be the same, but travel agents can sometimes throw in a little extra incentives, like some shipboard credit. If you already have a travel agent that you use a lot, then that may be the best choice for you. The first decision you will need to make is whether to work directly with Viking or to use a travel agent. After sailing with Viking many times, and with more trips scheduled, we thought a guide to Viking’s cruise selection and booking process would be helpful, so here we go! You Have Some Decisions to Make Sounds simple, right? But there are many options and parameters that you should consider in order to take full advantage of all that your itinerary offers, and more importantly to minimize any surprises. It all sounds great! Just book your cruise and everything will be included. Maybe it was the all-inclusive tag line that peaked your interest. These are the images that draw people to a cruise, and in this case, a Viking cruise. Perhaps you have envisioned yourself on the deck of a beautiful river ship sailing down the Rhine River with medieval castles dotting the landscape, or maybe aboard an oceangoing cruise ship in a beautiful Scandinavian fjord. I mean, we've got Cousin Eddie returning to the series. It's somewhat shocking because it seems writer Matty Simmons, a vet of this series, was really trying to delivers the goods to fans. Man, oh man, what a complete and utter disaster this thing here turned out to be. ![]() National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2 (2003) 1/2 (out of 4) Cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid) gets bitten by a monkey so to avoid a lawsuit the company sends him and his family on a vacation to a tropical island. They took the original piece of work and dragged it through the mud!!!! Why? So Sad! They milked these stories for all they were worth. They did the same thing to such greats as "Jaws", "Crocodile Dundee", "Superman" and so many others. The story was rediculous and not the least bit funny, but really sad. All these characters were morally depraved, and just disgusting all together. So it was her, cousin eddie, and his wife and the grandfather, played by Ed Asner. This one basically found the long lost Audrey and put her together with her trailer trash cousins, which if you had seen the first movie know would NEVER happen. The Christmas one.hmmmm, not crazy about, but not horrid. The second was not as good, but still pretty decent. The original vacation was hilarious and I still laugh when I see it. ![]() First off, what is Vacation without Chevy Chase? He WAS the movie. Why do movie producers insist on tarnishing the name of something that was truly great? They did not HAVE to use the "vacation" name to make a story out of this piece of crap, but that is the ONLY way anyone would have EVER watched I suppose. One inherent problem parents may have with this movie is how it juxtaposes juvenile humor with sexually suggestive scenes and strings of profanity - it wants to appeal to younger viewers, yet it includes adult content. This movie was a disaster. The Griswold kids might as well be cardboard cutouts with their eyes permanently rolled. The producers attracted some decent talent to act as Clark's foils, but neither the stuck-up neighbor ( Julia Louis-Dreyfus), the uncouth second cousin ( Randy Quaid), or the boss who stiffs Clark on his Christmas bonus ( Brian Doyle-Murray) generate much in the way of laughs. Clark's frustration at putting up 25,000 Christmas lights and a SWAT team descending on the family home to the tune of "Here Comes Santa Claus" are among the movie's best moments. Chase has some good moments, and those who enjoy his double-talk and pratfalls will find redeeming value in this lukewarm movie. Those who found the original utterly tasteless will find National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation to be slightly (but not much) cleaner. ![]() (Note: If you're around kids who believe in Santa, the movie makes lots of references to who really stuffs stockings, etc., so you may want to avoid.) To stay in the loop on more movies like this, you can sign up for weekly Family Movie Night emails.įor those who enjoyed the original Vacation, this holiday edition offers virtually the same story and characters, with more predictability and less help from the supporting cast. Adults regularly drink alcohol and are shown drunk, as well as smoking cigarettes and cigars. On the other hand, the cast is all White, and stereotypes include the reinforcement of gender roles, sexualizing a woman who sells lingerie, and less affluent family members being portrayed as uncouth. The movie makes all of its characters look ridiculous, though some show positive qualities. The language is toned down a bit from the previous Vacation movies, but there are still plenty of four-letter words, including "f-k" and "s-t," some said by kids. ![]() Many of the movie's laughs depend on mishaps like falling from ladders or traveling in a car stuck underneath a big rig, but no one is hurt in a way that lasts (though a pet cat does get electrocuted). Parents need to know that much of the slapstick humor in 1989's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is directed at younger viewers - from the cartoon opening to an impossibly high-speed sled ride - but language and sexual references make it iffy for younger kids. ![]() ![]() Zinc: oysters, whole grains and legumes. To boost your levels of these, get more of these foods in your diet: If your body is low on zinc, iron, B12 and folate, then there’s a high chance you will get recurring sores. People get mouth ulcers if they lack certain vitamins and minerals in their diet. Now, let’s shift the focus away from the foods you should avoid to foods you should pay attention to! It might be necessary to decrease your dose if you’re experiencing chronic mouth pain. We often take these drinks in large quantities and are least likely to give these up. Coffee and alcohol (preferably not together!) are both very acidic. There are certain drinks that, if consumed, bring a risk of oral ulcers. Opt for soy and oat milk-based products and vegan cheese and see if these changes make a difference. If your mouth sores are recurring, cutting out dairy products, especially those containing animal milk, are worth cutting out. A flare-up could be due to an adverse immune reaction to cow’s milk. Some doctors think an ingredient in cow milk proteins links to mouth ulcers. Dairyĭairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt commonly contribute to canker sores. If you’re in pain from eating a small quantity of a certain food, see a doctor for allergy testing. This way, you can figure out what ingredients are the most harmful. Experiment with the foods you eat each week, cutting back on certain items and increasing your dosage of others. Try and note down what foods trigger your mouth ulcers. You may be allergic if a certain food gives you mouth ulcers repeatedly. We briefly mentioned chocolate allergies. Applying extra butter to toast and having raw vegetables or potato chips with dip may help your mouth cope better. You could also combine the foods with something that removes the dryness and hardness. It’s best to avoid these when you can if you’re prone to canker sores.Īlternatively, eat these in smaller-sized mouthfuls. Yet, it is foods classified as “hard” that are abrasive, sharp, and sore-forming: Most of these are a double whammy, as they also tend to have high salt content. You’ll want to avoid foods like curries, hot sauce, jalapenos, and spicy chips to save yourself from oral pain. Like acidic fruits, spicy foods have high acidity and are more likely to distress the skin. Spicy foods can disrupt the lining inside your mouth, causing an ulcer. You don’t have to cut out chocolate completely, but if it causes pain, consider cutting down on the cocoa. Some people with this mild allergy will develop canker sores on their tongue and inner cheeks. The mouth is quite sensitive to this ingredient, and it can lead to something similar to an allergic reaction. It is mainly because of an alkaloid in chocolate called bromide. Chocolateĭeal breaker! Chocolate, unfortunately, is a top food that causes mouth ulcers. Salted nuts are especially bad, as the sodium dries your mouth out and causes the lining to become slightly inflamed. The amino acid L-Arginine in these nuts contributes to canker sores. Nuts such as walnuts, peanuts, cashews, and almonds are dangerous territory for your gnashers. NutsĪs nutritious as nuts are, they are surprisingly bad for your teeth. Any juices made with these fruits will also have the same effect.īananas, watermelon, and apples are good fruits to eat – you will avoid abrasion. It is especially true if you already have a sensitive mouth. These fruits cause mouth tissue stress and can aggravate your gums. Strawberries, in particular, tend to cause mouth irritation. Pineapples, oranges, lemons, and limes are examples of high-acidity fruits. Acidic fruitsįruits that are acidic, or particularly citrusy, can cause your mouth to break out in ulcers. In the meantime, read on to discover what major foods can cause mouth ulcers. This way, you can get professional advice that is also personalized. It’s important to visit our dentist in NW Calgary, that knows how to identify the source of your canker sore problem and offer immediate treatment. If you experience frequent mouth sores that are not going away, this may have to do with your diet. What you eat is a huge contributor as well. Anxiety, stress, biting the inside of your cheek, and smoking are typical reasons you develop canker sores. However, anyone who’s had one knows how unpleasant they are. Mouth ulcers are common and mostly harmless sores that occur inside the mouth. ![]() If you have problems, call Chawn 80 and he will assist. To find the lighting wiring, you need to unscrew and clip the cable tie and pull on the bundle going into the down-tube.Faster than a Thanks for your post Brian and I'm so pleased that you like the Dash! Regarding your points The down shift button on the trigger shift is too stiff, but the shop may be able to adjust that out.īut like I said I love riding this from Mercer Island to Downtown seattle, 4.5 miles, 20 minutes, 1 bar each way at high assist.I would much rather have an up and a down button for the assist, rather than scrolling round and round. To me, cruise control is the waste of a button, because there isn't any strain to holding the grip throttle in any position you want it.In some modes, the assist seems to cut in and out at about 18 to 20 mph, I get that it is supposed to do that but it is jerky.I'll replace them and get strapped toe clips as well. Pedal work as pedals, but are very poor quality. Can't find the hookup point for the headlights, it is not where the website says (top of down tube). There is a '0' assistance level which is a little hidden, you press the off button quickly and then there is no assistance but you get to keep the speedo etc.Įveryone has been very positive here and I love this commuting machine, but that are a couple negatives. There is no difference is sound in that mode or in level 4 with full throttle. The correct description for how much noise it makes is not 'quiet'.Maybe someone with a bit more experience with e-bikes can weigh in on this.įirst time posting here, after buying a Dash two days ago. Perhaps it's not all about cadence if you want to get the maximum performance out of your battery, you're going to have to find a gear that allows you to work hard so you don't end up draining the battery in about 16 miles like I was on pace to do. So perhaps there is some difference with shifting on an e-bike. I noticed on my ride today that while in pedal assist 1 that being in the right gear really did matter for battery performance. What I really wanted to post about though is the shifting on the Dash. And with a Child seat on the back with a 2.5 year old, it's going to have a lot more! Also the smaller frame makes me feel a bit more in control considering you got a bit more "junk in the trunk". The Dash feels great to me, the 19" frame is just a half inch smaller than the frame I have on my mountain bike, but it just feels nice. I have about 11 appreciable hills on my way to work, which is also in a mostly uphill direction. My goal is to average somewhere around 22-25 MPH, and I got alot of hills around me. Over the next few weeks I'm going to continue testing the bike as I build up confidence in my ability to make my commute in a timely fashion (while also dropping my son off at day care). Being 6'1" and nearing 240lbs I understand I'm probably a bit of a larger rider for the battery and that I should expect some performance problems until I start losing some of this weight. One thing I've found out already about the dash is that you can get those higher speeds with very little effort, but a massive drain on the battery. This is going to be perfect for my 13 mile (each way) daily commute. What sold the bike for me was the speed you could keep even with pedal assist 1 with next to zero effort, ~15'sh MPH, on 4 I was able to get myself up to 30 on the flats with some effort, and topped out around 35 MPH going downhill, trying to pedal as hard as I could. But hey at least I'm going to get a $260 dividend at the end of the year. ![]() I love the bike, but quite honestly the REI staff just don't know E-Bikes, when I wasn't in their store looking at the bike they kept all the e-bikes way off in an area that nobody will ever see, very sad. I just purchased the Dash today after much deliberation, REI was the only retailer for IZip I could find in a reasonable driving distance from my home in Aurora, CO, so I had to break my rule of not going with my local bike shop. First time post on these forums, but I love the reviews that I've checked over the last two weeks on EBR. ![]() Play with friends and family cooperatively, or fly solo. I don’t really want to start over so I’m debating on whether or not to continue playing. Anyway this is just a little information for someone who wants to play this.
